Problem
Modern eating habits often rely on a limited variety of ingredients, which contributes to a decline in biodiversity and environmental resilience. Crop Swap is a concept app aimed at encouraging small, easy swaps in everyday meals to help users make a positive impact, without sacrificing taste or convenience. The challenge was to design a tool that felt accessible, positive, and actionable, reflecting the idea that even minor changes can contribute to a healthier planet.
Solution
I created a clean, intuitive app interface, web page and brand touchpoints that make ingredient swapping quick and enjoyable.
Visual Identity: Using my own photography, I developed a soft, earthy brand system that feels optimistic and grounded in nature.
Colour: Used a neutral, understated palette inspired by British fields to highlight natural ingredients.
Design Concept: Emphasised simplicity in layout and interaction to mirror the message: small changes, big impact.
Tone: Friendly, sustainable, and educational, encouraging mindful choices without overwhelming the user.
